About Us

The Springfield Healthy Homes Collaborative is a collaboration of community partners and stakeholders from multiple sectors, who have joined together to address the health issues faced by residents due to poor housing conditions. The key health concerns related to housing include asthma, elderly falls, and lead paint poisoning.


The Springfield Healthy Homes Collaborative has received funding from the City of Springfield Office of Housing, EPA Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem Solving Grant and Health New England, and is led by the Public Health Institute  of Western Massachusetts and the Pioneer Valley Asthma Coalition. Organizational members include healthcare, municipal departments, community organizations, utility companies, and more. 



Key Activities

  • Promoting lead abatement resources and lead prevention education
  • Sharing resources for healthy homes education and repairs
  • Promoting trainings on Healthy Homes principles and strategies for professionals and residents
  • Educating and empowering community organizations and residents in addressing unhealthy housing issues
